My name is Renata Usniacka-Jones and I am a founder of footbug.
I am a Foot Health Practitioner trained at the SMAE Institute in Maidenhead. I am also a reflexologist and provide other foot related treatments.

My guess is that some of you may have never heard about an FHP before. In essence I treat basic problems of the feet.

I am not a Podiatrist/Chiropodist but proud to be Foot Health Practitioner trained with the only foot health school acredited by a University.

The scope of work of a Podiatrist/Chiropodist and FHP appears similar, but these are the main differences:

Health Professional Council registration - only Podiatrists/Chiropodists are registered with this governing body in the UK

Level of training - FHP’s are not university trained but the Podiatrists/Chiropodists are. Training course for an FHP takes around 12 months, including 100 clinical hours. Training in Podiatry/Chiropody takes 3 years and includes 1200 clinical hours. FHP's are unable to use local aneastesia or perform surgery.

I am passionate about foot care and lack of university training hasn’t stopped me embracing what I can do for my patient's and expanding the knowledge at any opportunity.

In my daily experience with clients and patients I realised that people know so little about feet and don’t look after them properly. The idea is to provide information and basic knowledge with a minimal use of medical jargon as well as break up the boundaries of an old fashion medical approach.

I am a member of British Association of Foot Health Practitioners, with full indemnity insurance and a CRB check. I speak fluent Polish.
